Head Coach Kenny "Doc" Holliday, Offensive Coordinator Archie Wallace, Defensive Coordinator Eric Hotle, and Scout Duane Irwin at the Texans Media Guide Photo Shoot.

Houston, TX -- There's a new sheriff in Houston. When both Head Coach Bart Coleman and Defensive Coordinator Richie Henderson retired after the 2009 season, many wondered what direction GM Hyperion would take in the search for replacements. Today's press conference made it clear that the Texans were going back to their roots. New Head Coach Kenny "Doc" Holliday and new Defensive Coordinator Eric Hotle joined long-time Offensive Coordinator Archie Wallace and Lead Scout Duane Irwin in making sure everyone knew what the future holds for Houston. "Everyone in the organization knows that it will take some time to be truly competitive with some of the powerhouses in the league," said Holliday, "But rest assured, we will be a contender soon. Houston is placing the AFC South on notice: Justice Is Coming."

Staff Hiring

Following a 7-9 season in 2008 the Eagles decided to install a new coaching team led by Irv White. The 2009 season was more successful as the Eagles returned to the play offs for the first time since 2006. Although the Eagles lost to New Orleans in the Wild Card round there were plenty of positives to be taken from the season and hence the reason the coaching and scouting team was maintained in it’s entirety for the 2010 season.

Retirements

The only retirement from the 2009 season was Defensive End Howard who retired after 10 years in the professional ranks. He had 24 sacks in his 4 years in the vNFL and 8.5 in the season just passed. This production will need to be replaced in the off season.

San Diego Coaching Shakeup?

San Diego (CA) - Reports are circulating around the Chargers' training facility the GM Mike Marra has reached out to speak with a few canidates about the possibility of coming to San Diego.

Apparently after just one season at the helm Mo Blackwell might have fallen out of good graces with the young GM. Blackwell took over last season after longtime coach, Greg Stewart and the team could not come to terms on a contract. Blackwell may have been hired as coach on short notice because the team was not prepared to have talks with Stewart go sour.
